EEOC Will Continue to Collect Pay Data until Reaching a ‘Target Response Rate’

Sep 30, 2019 1:27:09 PM

Today, Sept. 30, 2019, is the deadline for applicable employers to submit their EEO-1 Component 2 pay data to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). As we previously talked about, this data is to be broken down by job category, race, sex, and ethnicity. However, the EEOC announced Sept. 27 that they, “will continue to accept reports until it reaches the target response rate identified in a court order.”

The EEOC goes on to say, “The data collection will not be deemed complete … until the percentage of EEO-1 reporters that have submitted their required EEO-1 Component 2 reports equals or exceeds the mean percentage of EEO-1 reporters that actually submitted EEO-1 reports in each of the past four reporting years.”

Why is this such a big deal? The EEOC reported that as of Sept. 25, only 39.7% of eligible filers had submitted their EEO-1 data.

Have you submitted your data yet?

If not, you can find step-by-step instructions on the EEOC’s website.
