Hot Onboarding Tips - In the Age of Mobile

A recent study by the Pew Research Center shows that 84% of U.S. households own a computer. That percentage includes at least a desktop, laptop, netbook or notebook computer, or handheld computers including smartphones and tablets. Approximately ⅓ of those citizens use their mobile devices to connect rather than a wired computer. 77% of Americans own a smartphone, which is a significant increase from the Pew Research Center's study in 2011of 35%.

The smartphone, or other mobile devices, are quickly moving to overtake the home computer in terms of usage. It's easy to see why: they are easier to use, more comfortable to carry and deliver substantial power compared to earlier models of smartphones. It's a convenience in the palm of your hand. It's only natural that instead of fighting this change, companies learn to embrace the technology.

When looking for the best-of-the-best applicants to fill positions at your company, being tech/mobile savvy is massive for the current workforce generation. While you appeal to those potential employees, why not also make your life easier?

Our onboarding software's New Hire Portal is mobile-friendly. It lets your new hires get to work on their first day rather than waste it filling out paperwork.

We all know how tedious and time-consuming new hire paperwork is. W-2s, W-4s, I-9s, direct deposit, employee handbooks will take up at least the first day of a new hire, if not more. Instead of getting everything done on an employee's first day, we have ways you can save everyone's time. Get the required forms to your new hire days before they start by sending them digitally. Better yet, make it accessible on their mobile devices.

Even on mobile, our system will keep new hires compliant as they fill out IRS forms. It also auto-fills redundant sections to reduce errors and eliminate frustration on the employee's side.

Providing mobile access to your new employees will encourage them to complete these forms before starting their new job. Not only that, but it shows them your investment in them getting good work done.

A “small” gesture like mobile accessibility can go a long way in attracting top talent.
